Hey beautiful! Old iconic buses spotted in Malta's streets last weekend
They're a great source of nostalgia.

Caroline Curmi

Ask any Maltese person what their greatest source of nostalgia is and you'll be sure to hear at least a mention or two of Malta's quaint and traditional buses.

Colour-coded to highlight the routes they were serving, excellently preserved specimens were this weekend spotted out and about in Maltese streets.

A recent picture shows three of these buses - one pastel blue, one red and another one dark green, parked behind each other in St Julian's. While they are no longer used as public transport, they are sometimes used as wedding transport or for other celebratory events.

Aren't they just wonderful?

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
