Strong easterly winds have caused rough seas along the coast.

If you were planning to hop on the Valletta ferry today, you might want to adjust your plans.

Due to strong easterly winds whipping up rough seas in the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett, the Valletta Ferry Service connecting the capital to Sliema and the Three Cities has been suspended, starting last night and continuing throughout today, Friday 19th September.

While temperatures remain relatively mild, the recent shift in weather has brought higher swells, making crossings unsafe for passengers. The service is expected to resume as soon as conditions improve – keep yourself updated via the Valletta Ferry Service Facebook page.

Travellers are advised to use alternative transport routes until further notice.
