After days of intense summer heat, Malta is set for a slightly calmer start to the week, with cloudy conditions expected on Tuesday before sunshine gradually takes over for the rest of the week, according to the latest forecast by Maltese Islands Weather.

Tuesday will be the cloudiest day of the forecast period, with temperatures reaching a high of 32°C and a real feel of around 36°C. Moderate south-easterly winds are also expected, making for a breezier day compared to recent conditions.

Wednesday will see a mix of sunshine and clouds, with similar temperatures but lighter winds and calmer seas.

By Thursday, the sunshine will make a full return as skies become mainly sunny. Temperatures will remain around 32°C, while rain chances continue to decrease.

The hottest spell of the week is expected on Friday and Saturday, when temperatures are forecast to climb to 36°C, with the real feel reaching a sweltering 40°C.

Despite the heat, light winds and smooth seas should provide ideal conditions for beachgoers, although residents are urged to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day.

Sunday will remain sunny, with temperatures easing slightly to 35°C. UV levels are expected to remain very high throughout the week, ranging between 9 and 10, making sun protection essential for anyone spending time outdoors.
