Stormy skies! Thunderstorms could hit Malta this week
Malta looks set for a dramatic change in weather!

Malta looks set for a dramatic change in weather, with the Met Office forecasting thunderstorms for the coming days through Thursday.

While isolated showers are possible, forecasters expect much of the rainfall to evaporate before reaching the ground due to the hot, dry air.  However, thunder and lightning might still be visible across the Maltese Islands.

This forecast comes just days after Malta endured an intense heatwave, with temperatures climbing well above 40°C.

Although conditions will remain warm, the coming days will feel way more comfortable – with highs of 35°C and lows of 26°C.

July is traditionally Malta’s driest month, with not a single drop of rain falling since 2022, when a mere 0.2mm of rainfall was recorded.
