Take note, folks! Infrastructure Malta has announced that a major stretch of road connecting Floriana to Marsa and Hamrun will be closed practically all weekend.
“Between tomorrow night (Friday 6th March, 8pm) and noon on Sunday (8th March, 12pm), we are lifting in place the final two sections of the 105-metre deck of the new Blata l-Bajda pedestrian and cycling bridge connecting this area of Hamrun with the Spencer Hill and the Menqa areas of Floriana and Marsa,” Infrastructure Malta said on socials.
“The southbound carriageway of San Gorg Preca Road (Floriana to Dicembru 13 Road, Marsa) will be closed at all hours during these works. Follow diversion signs to alternative route through Spencer Hill and Timber Wharf.”
If you’re travelling by public transport, it’s also important to note that certain routes will be diverted to avoid this area. “Bus routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 71, 72, 73, 74, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 88, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 213, TD10 and X4” will also be diverted through Spencer Hill and Timber Wharf.
