With so many road works currently going on around the islands, it seems like a case of another day, another road closure. From yesterday to Saturday 10^th August, Regional Road northbound, meaning from Santa Venera to Tal-Qroqq and Kappara, will be closed at night (from 5pm to 5am) for overnight works, according to an Infrastructure Malta Facebook post.

The final phase of the Regional Road Project is in progress: “We are widening this principal north-south link to 6 lanes and upgrading 7 of its junctions, for increased safety and reduced travel times, they said.

While it will ultimately lead to a more convenient travel route, locals aren’t happy about the current situation, and that such a main road will be closed during peak hours. “Instead of closing the road for one week from 5pm to 5am, the road could easily be closed for two weeks from 10pm to 5am,” suggested one Facebook user.
