Heads up! Plan a different route if you were thinking of passing through Garibaldi Road
Take note!

Plan ahead, folks! It seems that the busy Garibaldi Road is going to cause some traffic for the coming weeks, so start thinking of an alternative route.

The Santa Lucija Local Council that took to Facebook to warn residents, saying “the ongoing traffic in Santa Lucija is because of Triq Garibaldi being closed in the North direction.” Oh shite.

“This situation will keep persisting for around two weeks,” the local council said, appealing for the residents’ cooperation. Triq Garibaldi is the arterial road that currently connects one of the new Marsa flyovers to Luqa and Santa Lucija. This seems to be related to the project as it comes after news was shared last week that three more flyovers part of the Marsa Junction Project will be opened next month.

In the statement released, the ministry shared that a new connection at the Marsa Junction will also be established. “At the end of the week a new northbound connection between Sir Paul Boffa Avenue and Aldo Moro Road will be opened while traffic will be diverted from the northbound carriageway in Giuseppe Garibaldi Road to another road in the Marsa Industrial Estate.”
