Heads up! Part of this major bypass will be closed from tomorrow night
Best to plan alternative routes this weekend!

Take note, people! Infrastructure Malta have just announced that part of the Marsa-Hamrun bypass will be closed starting tomorrow night as works will begin on the underground walk-through culvert.

“Between tomorrow night and Monday night (24-27 January), 8pm - 5am, we are building another section of the Marsa-Hamrun Bypass underground walk-through culvert for high voltage electricity cables, as part of the €2.25 million project to upgrade this road’s connections with nearby localities.”

Thankfully, works will only be ongoing throughout the night, they confirm. “Part of the roundabout beneath the Bypass’s flyover will be closed at night, whilst these works are in progress. No access from the Bypass’s southbound carriageway to the roundabout (slip road closed) and no access from Hal Qormi Road (near Maltapost offices) to Santa Venera and Hamrun. Follow diversion signs to nearby alternative routes.”

Get planning!
