Heads up! Gozo Highspeed and Pozzallo ferries suspended for Tuesday 17th February as new week brings more strong winds
The next few days are expected to bring more clouds, rain and strong winds.

Carnival braved the weather last weekend, managing to power through strong winds on Friday to showers on Sunday. While many have been hoping that the last two days of Carnival might be brighter, it seems like clouds, more strong winds, and possibly some light rain will be characterising the coming few days.

Today, Monday 16th February, is expected to be mostly cloudy with the possibility of isolated light rain later this evening, as a blanket of clouds covers the sky, although the rainfall isn’t expected to exceed 1mm. The winds are expected to hit a strong force 7, while the night’s getting chilly, as the minimum temperature of 13°C is expected to feel like 9°C.

Tomorrow (Tuesday), while being less cloudy than today, is expected to bring even stronger winds, with gusts of force 7-8 hitting the islands later on during the day. The sea is expected to go from rough to very rough, and in fact, the Gozo Highspeed ferry operating between Valletta and Gozo will be suspended for the entirety of Tuesday 17th February.

Virtu Ferries have also announced that all trips on Tuesday will be cancelled, with trips on Wednesday 18th February being adjusted to the following schedule:

Dep. Malta 05:00 hrs Arr. Pozzallo 06:45 hrs (as scheduled)

Dep. Malta 07:30 hrs Arr. Pozzallo 09:15 hrs (as scheduled)

Dep. Pozzallo 08:30 hrs Arr. Malta 10:15 hrs (as scheduled)

Dep. Pozzallo 11:00 hrs Arr. Malta 12:45 hrs (extra trip)

Dep. Malta 11:30 hrs Arr. Pozzallo 13:15 hrs (extra trip)

Dep. Pozzallo 14:30 hrs Arr. Malta 16:15 hrs (extra trip)

Dep. Malta 15:00 hrs Arr. Pozzallo 16:45 hrs (extra trip)

Dep. Malta 18:00 hrs Arr. Pozzallo 19:45 hrs (as scheduled)

Dep. Pozzallo 19:30 hrs Arr. Malta 21:15 hrs (as scheduled)

Dep. Pozzallo 21:30 hrs Arr. Malta 23:15 hrs (as scheduled)

You might be happy to note, though, that the winds will calm down to Force 3-4 by Wednesday evening, although they might pick up again towards the weekend, so enjoy the calm breeze while it lasts!
