Heads up, folks! Traffic diversions and lane closures expected this weekend in Marsa
Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!

Take note, people! Infrastructure Malta has just announced that this Saturday 18th January, only one lane in each direction will be serving the Marsa Junction area as works will continue on the project.

“During these works, the connection between Sir Paul Boffa Avenue and Aldo Moro Road will be open with only 1 lane in each direction,” Infrastructure Malta has informed the public. “The other 2 lanes will be closed so that we can safely lift and set in place 14 beams that will form another part of the flyovers we will be opening by the end of June. Each of these prestressed concrete beams is 30 metres long and weighs 38 tonnes.” Sheesh.

The entity has also encouraged drivers to use alternative routes where possible. “Proceed with caution and where possible, use alternative routes through Santa Lucija, Luqa, and Qormi. The Dock 7 road will be open in the northbound direction, from Paola to Marsa. The Malta Police Force and Transport Malta officers will be in the area to help road users.”
