Relatable AF.
If you’ve travelled somewhere this morning, you’ll know all too well what we’re about to say. There’s something about a rainy day that gives us a sense of calm if we’re inside listening to the pitter patter. But if we’re outside – basically, y’all better move outta the way. #RoadRageIncoming! Here’s all the crazy and dumbo things that happen on Maltese roads once it begins to rain.
1. Traffic galore
Your usually route is blocked. Ok – Plan B is in action, but once you head in that direction you’re already stuck. Great. Try Plan C? Things are going well but then more traffic is found round every corner. But you just have to sit and wait patiently because you ain’t got no Plan D because there are only so many routes you can take to get out of a small Maltese town. #ClutchUBrejk
2. Bumper to bumper!
On these slippery roads, you’re bound to bump (no pun intended) into one on your way to work, school, uni, or wherever it is you head to in the mornings. Bumper to bumpers are common in this weather and tend to clog up the roads. So, remember to drive safely.
3. Those ballsy drivers
Man, do we hate these. It’s always advised to drive with care on days like these, but you’ll always have those handful of drivers that manage to get your anxiety levels rising and your blood boiling like no other. These particular geniuses break right behind you, leaving mere inches between their front bumper and your back one. Seeing them do this not once, but multiple times just pisses you the hell off. #BreatheInBreatheOut
4. Slow drivers
We get it, it’s raining and you’re driving with care. We do, too. But dude, there’s no need to drive at 20km/h. You can pick it up a notch to, say, 40km/h – that’s a decent speed in this weather.
5. Puddles, puddles, puddles
With the numerous potholes and sinkholes around the island, we all know what this means. Rain and a hole, means puddle, meaning if a car drives by at a certain speed, a poor pedestrian is just going to get drenched. And nobody likes that on a Tuesday morning.
Remember to drive safely in this weather, folks!
