Dwejra Tower has announced extended opening hours for the month of August, providing more opportunities for visitors to explore this historic site.
Starting last Thursday, the 1st of August, the tower started welcoming guests every weekday from 9 am to 2 pm. In addition to weekday openings, the tower will continue its Sunday morning hours and may open at other times depending on volunteer availability.
Entrance to Dwejra Tower remains free of charge, though donations are appreciated. Visitors can easily identify if the tower is open by looking for the red and white flag flying overhead.
The tower offers a unique glimpse into Malta's rich history, with new illustrated information panels detailing its origins as a coastal watchtower built in 1652 during the era of Grand Master Lascaris.
The tower also served as a military observation post during both World Wars. Factsheets are available in Maltese, English, and several other languages to accommodate international visitors.
One of the highlights of a visit to Dwejra Tower is the chance to enjoy panoramic views from the rooftop, offering stunning vistas of the surrounding coastline and the famous Fungus Rock, provided the weather conditions are favourable.
Dwejra Tower invites everyone to take advantage of these extended hours and discover the fascinating stories embedded in its ancient walls.
