Listen up bookworms and history fanatics! We’ve got the perfect event for you. The much-awaited annual book sale is back at one of the island’s most stunning locations! Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna – the Malta Heritage Trust, will be hosting The Saluting Battery Annual History Book Sale from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd June.
A vast selection of new military history, general history, maritime, aviation, children’s, WWI and WWII books will be available to purchase at special prices from the sale. During the book fair, Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna will also be hosting guided tours of the Battery, delving back in time to ages of old.
The event deets
The fair will be open for business as follows:
1. Friday 21st June from 10am to 5pm
2. Saturday 22nd June from 10am to 5pm
3. Sunday 23rd June from 9am to 1pm
A standard €3 admission fee into the historical site is required upon entrance but will be refunded upon purchasing €10 or more worth of books. This should be an easy task! Admission is free however for children and Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna members.
Entrance to the event is through the Upper Barrakka Gardens or Battery Street. All proceeds of this event will go towards the restoration and upkeep of the Saluting Battery and Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna’s artillery collection.
