For just a small island with a population of under 500,000, Malta is among the top dogs when it comes to its recovery rate of COVID-19. According to CoronaTracker that presents stats on the situation of Coronavirus in different countries, Malta has a recovery rate of 23.2 per cent.

As announced in yesterday’s press conference, Malta has a total of 426 cases, 99 of which have recovered, and three have unfortunately passed away.

Iceland has the highest recovery rate so far, standing at 73.4 per cent. Austria follows in second at 69.6 per cent with Germany in third at 59.9 per cent, followed by Switzerland at 59.8 per cent, Denmark at 53.1 per cent and Spain at 39 per cent.

Malta has a similar recovery rate to countries such as Italy which stands at 25.5 per cent, France at 23.3 per cent and Belgium at 22.5 per cent. A number of factors could influence these percentages, including the time span of the pandemic in a particular country as well as population.
