Grab your rods! Go fishing in aid of Puttinu Cares with this incredible initiative

The Maltese truly have hearts of gold when it comes to banding together to raise awareness or funds. NPO Kingfisher Sport Fishing Association are organising two educational and fun-packed events all in aid of Puttinu Cares.

Underwater cleanup

Divers from Divemed, NGO Zibel, Raniero Adventures and MTA will be coming together to collect rubbish and debris from the seabed in Marsascala. Volunteers will be separating the material collection on the shore in order for it to be disposed of as it should.

Charity fishing 

After the underwater cleanup, a charity fishing event shall be held and all donations collected during this event will go to Puttinu Cares. Children will be invited to go fishing, with members from the club on hand to help out any beginners.

The guides on site will also teach the children and their parents the Club's motto: "Catch & Release", where all the fish caught will be released back into the sea after the activity. Have some quality time with the family while helping out such a good cause and the environment, all in a day’s work. Win, win, win!

The event deets

These two events organised by Kingfisher Sport Fishing Association will take place on 4th August between 2pm and 8pm along the Marsascala Promenade. All are welcome to help clean up the area and learn a bit more about the Maltese environment, raising awareness in the process.
