On 26th June, a temporary ban on swimming was put in place following concerns over water quality. However, after days of repeated testing in line with the EU Bathing Water Directive, the Environmental Health Directorate has confirmed that seawater in the area is once again safe for bathing.

That means one of Gozo’s most popular summer spots is back in action – just in time for one of the hottest weeks this summer.

The public is encouraged to stay informed by visiting the Environmental Health Directorate’s official Facebook page, website, or the Bathing Water Quality Portal, where similar updates on bathing zones around Malta and Gozo are posted regularly.

For direct enquiries, you can also contact the Directorate at 2133 7333 during office hours or by email at [email protected].

Grab your towel and sunblock!
