Going for the buzz cut! This gutsy gal is shaving her hair off for the best of causes
What an inspiration!

One local girl is undertaking quite the challenge tomorrow by shaving off her hair in a bid to raise money for the Women for Women Foundation.

An inspirational goal, 12-year-old Molly's reason for doing this hits close to home: "They have helped my mum who is a single mother to me and my brother and I would like to show my appreciation," she said, adding that the fundraiser aims to help other women in similar situations.

Molly's mother Nicola says her daughter has "always been strong-willed with an attuned sense of right and wrong. She is passionate about human rights and wishes the world was a more tolerant place."

Expressing her pride at her daughter's selfless ambition, Nicola continues: "This fundraiser is for a magnificent cause close to our family's hearts and we are incredibly proud of her for highlighting and raising money for this very worthy cause."

Indeed, Molly is set to shave off all her hair tomorrow and is hopeful that this challenge will lead others to contribute to the foundation: "...please donate so women for women can continue to help more women like my mum," she said.

Donations will go to the Women for Women Education Fund, a fund which allows the foundation to "invest in the training and further education of women, ensuring a better future for themselves and their children."

At the time of writing, the fund has already collected almost €3,000

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
