Gloomy skies! A rainy afternoon with a hint of desert sand is predicted to hit Malta later today
Where’s the sun?

A gloomy day awaits us today as Malta wakes up to a full sky cloaked in a blanket of clouds, with a forecast of rain looming for the afternoon and evening hours.

According to Maltese Islands Weather, we might notice a peculiar phenomenon as lighter rain is expected to carry fine desert sand, adding an exotic, and shall we say dirty touch, to the precipitation.

Temperatures are anticipated to reach a high of 21°C during the day, providing a somewhat mild backdrop to the day's proceedings, while dipping to a cooler 16°C as night falls.

For those planning outdoor activities today, it's wise to brace for a moderate breeze from the East, blowing at Force 5 to 6, with occasional gusts reaching up to Force 7, persisting until late morning.

However, the wind is predicted to shift to the East Southeast in the afternoon, calming to a Force 3 to 4, though gusty episodes may still occur, particularly during the anticipated rainfall.

So, if you planned a beachy long weekend, you might want to shift towards your Plan B because it’s going to be a wet afternoon!

Are you longing for summer weather again?
