Global faceoff! Team Malta to face Ireland tonight at EuroHockey Championship Qualifiers
The team has been training hard over the last few weeks in preparation for these qualifiers
Hockey Association Malta shared some images of the national team’s final training session in Dublin last night, before their match against Ireland today at 6.45pm. This game will determine the placings of the teams for the EuroHockey Championships, which will be held in August 2025 in Germany.
Also playing today are Wales against Luxembourg, Czechia with Türkiye and Italy with Poland, before Malta’s turn in the last match of the day. The respective winners of the matches will meet for the semi-finals on Saturday.
Led by their coach Chris Attard, the 18-strong team includes: Marvin Grixti (goalkeeper), Shamison Mifsud (goalkeeper), Thomas Degiovanni, Zack Degiovanni, Silas Plaehn, Lucas Plaehn, Charlo Sammut, Christ Agius, Alessandro Amore, Julian Zahra, Shawn Dimech, Nathan Pace Gasan, Karl Chircop, Anton Saliba, Andrea Curmi, Xandru Mifsud Bonnici, Luke Bajada and Keith Bajada.
