‘Ghannej Ghannej’ festival makes its way across Gozo’s quaint villages every Sunday
The festival will last till late May.

The Cultural Heritage Directorate are organising the ‘Ghannej Ghannej’ festival, a unique event that highlights one of Malta and Gozo’s most unique traditions.

The traditional folk music festival will be showcasing performances every single Sunday morning over the coming weeks in different square villages all across the island of Gozo.

If you wish to attend a performance, the schedule is as follows:

12th March: Qala

19th March: Nadur

26th March: Gharb

2nd April: Sannat

16th April: Xaghra

23rd April: Ghajnsielem

30th April: San Lawrenz

7th May: Zebbug

14th May: Xewkija

Additionally, the festival is also organising a traditional dinner in the picturesque village of Santa Lucija on Friday, 19th May.

The festival will come to end on the following Sunday, 21st May after an ‘ghana’ animated mass in the Fontana parish church.
