He will be sorely missed.

Twistees Malta have just announced the sad news that its founder, Ray Calleja has passed away.

“It is with great sorrow to announce the demise of Mr. Ray Calleja, Chairperson of Strand Palace Agencies Ltd and Tastees Manufacturing Limited. Mr. Ray Calleja passed away peacefully on Thursday 9th January 2020. For those who would like to join in celebrating his life, funeral will be held on Saturday 11th January 2020 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Ibrag at 9:00 am."

Mr Calleja was the brains behind the popular Maltese snack that came to be in 1975 and has been part of our culture (and identity so to speak) for years. The crunchy and cheesy snack prides itself on being baked not fried with no artificial colourings or ingredients and has been recommended by nutritionists in Malta.
