Calling all foodies!  The food delivery service Peas & Love is opening its very first restaurant! For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, Peas & Love is a home-delivery food service that brings healthy food made from the best ingredients, with their motto being, “Life is busy but your health is essential.” And we totally agree!

Holly Pisani, the fabulous mind behind Peas & Love, speaks to us about this concept and her journey so far. “I had an office job for a while and finding healthy food to eat was impossible in the area, plus deliveries weren’t possible for one person (or they cost the earth.) There wasn’t a service that allowed me to have a decent lunch every day, so I started making my own lunches, trying to make them as interesting as possible.” Holly then started making lunches for others too, and everything developed from there. “The idea was to make the lunches healthy, reduce meat and increase vegetable intake for both health and environmental factors, so Peas & Love became vegetarian.”

Holly says that this brand has been a way to help change the misconception of vegetarian food. “I think people struggle with the concept of vegetarian food, but the response has been wonderful! It’s healthy but it can also be delicious and fun!”

It became clear quite quickly that there was a lot of room for growth within Peas & Love, so Holly decided to jump at the opportunity of opening her own restaurant. “Once the deliveries had really taken off, it felt like a natural progression to find a space where people could walk in and try the food. We also love being involved in events and catering for parties, and now have a space where we can accommodate this in-house.”

The restaurant will be located in University Heights - on Triq l-Imhallef Paolo Debono to be exact - and will be opening its doors early next year! Meanwhile, apart from the initial delivery service and now the restaurant, Peas & Love have also initiated a variety of different projects, from cooking classes with kids to catering parties and events, with other fun projects in the pipeline.

So, what should people expect from this new venture? “Expect healthy vegetarian meals , a few naughty desserts, plenty of vegan options and an ever-changing menu. You can expect lots of seasonal local vegetables and a great breakfast and brunch menu.” Sounds yummy, and we can’t wait to try it!
