There’s no one word that easily sums up Nadur’s annual Carnival celebrations, but here’s a couple that might help you out: macabre, hilarious, blunt and cheeky are but a few terms that come to mind. Add pressing social issues to the mix and that's when Maltese humour really shines through!

Malta's food delivery systems have long been the source of countless memes, so it's cameo at the Nadur Carnival comes as no surprise. Take this group with their cool spin on Time to Eat's infamous advert:

Corona Virus

Yes, it can be a deadly disease, yet it hasn't stopped locals from spinning out their own interpretation. Linking the virus to popular Italian beer Corona, the group wore protective suits with the Corona logo stuck on top. Cheeky and memorable!

And in case the Corona virus did strike during the celebrations, a group of revellers had everyone's backs with their state-of-the-art ambulance ready to transfer patients to hospital at the first sign of illness.
