The damage was caused due to ongoing construction works.
Frankfurt Airport are currently experiencing and IT outage, causing many flights including those from Malta to be delayed or cancelled.
Lufthansa flight, LH 1277 departing from Malta at 1:40pm was cancelled. The same flight was also operating under Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines.
Additionally, Lufthansa flight, LH 1311 at 5:20pm from Malta to Frankfurt was cancelled.
Lufthansa flight, LH 1310, leaving Frankfurt for Malta at 4:30pm will not be departing.
The IT outage was caused during construction work being carried out in the Frankfurt region.
“We ask all affected guests flying on domestic LH flights in Germany to book a train ticket and request a refund on lh.com.”, Lufthansa expressed to all the guests whose flights were affected.
None of the other flights flying out of Malta International Airport have been affected.
