What is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is a mobile payment service that allows users to make payments both in person and online using the digital wallet service. Just tap the receiver with your phone and hey presto, you’ve made an instore payment! It’s super easy and so efficient.

The service was launched in Malta, (along with another 11 countries), by Revolut, bringing the number of countries using Apple Pay up to 28.

Great, so how can I set this up?

All Maltese cardholders have to do is link the Revolut card to Apple devices - be it an iPhone or Apple Watch - and then you’re good to go! Just head on over to the Revolut app or the Wallet app and add it there. And if you haven’t got a physical Revolut card, you can still use your virtual card to get Apple Pay going!

Why use Apple Pay, though?

Apart from the fact that it’s easy to use, picture this. You’re out and about, shopping around, maybe travelling or just grabbing a quick bite to eat. Instead of rummaging in your bag to find your wallet and your card, while balancing your shopping and whatever else you’ve got going on, all you need to do is open the app and tap your phone (which is already in your hand anyway) on the credit card receiver, and BOOM – payment made and totally hassle free!
