For a long time, many dog owners in Gozo have been complaining about the lack of safe and open spaces for their loyal and furry companions to enjoy.

Their prayers have finally been answered as today, a dog park has been opened in Qala.

The park was inaugarated this morning by the Minsiter of Gozo, Clint Camilleri in the presence of the Qala local council.

“The goal was always for us to have a place that is adequate for dogs so they can run and carry out their excercise”, Minister Camilleri shared during his speech.

The park can be found right next to the already well-known Ġnien il-Familja as a part of it was taken and transformed into what’s now known as the dog park.

The much-needed dog park is divided into two sections, one for the bigger dogs and the other for the smaller ones. This was done to ensure safety and avoid any unfortuante incidents!

The park will sport many accessories to make it as a fun as possible for our little furry friends. This will include obstacles, ramps, tunnels, small ponds and many little other fun activities for the dogs to have a good time with.

The Ministry of Gozo appealed for all “owners to always be responsible and if they have dogs that do not get on well with other dogs, they have to be more cautious”.

The park will be open from 7am till 7pm.

Will you be using this park?
