Ferry rough seas! All Valletta ferries suspend service for today, Wednesday 4th February
The last trip from Valletta will take place at 10:45am, and from Mġarr at 11:45am.
Malta woke up to strong winds this morning, registering between Force 6 and 7 on the Beaufort scale, creating rough sea conditions across the channel.
As a result, the Gozo High Speed Ferry – which is particularly sensitive to strong winds – has suspended its service for today, until further notice.
The last scheduled departure from Valletta will take place at 10:45am, while the final crossing from Mġarr will depart at 11:45am.
Passengers needing to travel to or from Gozo are advised to make use of the larger Gozo Channel ferry service operating from Ċirkewwa, which is generally less affected by rough seas.
The Valletta–Sliema and Valletta–Three Cities ferry services have also been suspended, with the final trips having taken place at 10:30am.
Travellers are encouraged to stay updated by checking the Gozo Fast Ferry’s official Facebook page for any further announcements.
