The luxurious 5-star hotel was meant to open this summer, but the opening has had to be pushed back due to a slight delay. Not to worry, though - the Marriott will be bringing out the big guns come autumn!

Following a €30 million renovation project, the contemporary designed hotel in the heart of St Julian’s will have 301 rooms, including 25 Club Rooms, 29 Suites and a 150 square-metre Presidential Suite with views of the iconic Balluta Bay.

The hotel will also include a variety of restaurants and bars, indoor and outdoor pools for the perfect splash, a fully equipped spa and fitness centre and incredible conference facilities for the business peeps.

And get this: one of the world’s leading interior design consultancies took on the hotel's outstanding interior design. Elizabeth Lane, a partner at RPW Design was entrusted with the job to combine beautiful interiors with functionality at this fab new hotel. “Inspired by the heritage of Balluta we have woven the traditional crafts of Malta throughout the design in a contemporary way, giving the hotel a real sense of place while looking to the future,” Ms Lane said. Sounds fabulous!

While the Marriott Hotel isn't open yet, you can still indulge and satisfy your cravings at The Villa that houses both Nori (Asian street food) and Taro (Mediterranean cuisine). The two restos have freshly launched their new summer menu, which was the first part of the project that reopened The Villa following an extensive refurbishment that saw the creation of these great foodie spots.
