A heatwave is set to hit most of mainland Europe, but thankfully, Malta will remain unaffected by it. Sort of.
The Maltese Islands will still be experiencing high temperatures of around 33°C, which will feel anything between 36°C and 38°C for most of the week. We’re melting just thinking about it.
An intense heatwave will be hitting western and central Europe, with temperatures climbing almost 20°C higher than the average, which will last until the weekend. Weather forecasts are predicting low 30s temps across England, and anything between 36°C and 40°C across parts of France, Benelux and Germany from today until Sunday.
But the Met Office has confirmed that the Maltese Islands won’t be affected drastically by the European heatwave. “Because of Malta’s position as an island surrounded by water, it’s less likely for us to experience such intense heat that is encompassing mainland Europe this week. The intense heat is down to high pressures building up, that has nowhere to go,” a Met Office spokesperson told MaltaToday.
This week, temps on the Maltese Islands will be feeling as hot as 36°C and 38°C but will cool off slightly on Sunday, as temperatures should reach 31°C, feeling like 35°C. Xorta shana, bro. We’ll be chilling by the pool or the beach this weekend to keep cool in this heat.
Remember, stay safe in the sun during peak hours!
