Traditional Maltese houses are beautifully decorated and have certain details that just pop, be it colourful balconies, doors or religious icons on the walls. But sometimes, they feature things that will stop you right in your tracks - case in point. A photo has just surfaced on Facebook that shows a traditionally carved sculpture of Jesus looking like he’s … erm… a little extra enlightened.

The snap shows the sculpture with its head just a little too close to a lantern. "He saw the light... but had to get really, really close," read the caption. What is probably a miscalculation in measurements quickly sparked hilarious comments. “BLINDING!” said one user, and “I guess he ended up more enlightened,” another chimed in.

We're so sorry, Jesus.
