Ta’ Giezu Church in Valletta has welcomed a new set of bells, enhancing its musical heritage. Four new bells, crafted at a foundry in the Netherlands, will join the two restored bells already present in the church.

The new bells were made possible through funding and support from the Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, allowing them to resonate beautifully over the Grand Harbour. Residents living near the church and visitors in the vicinity can soon enjoy the enchanting sounds of these bells.

The new bells have been given meaningful names: the large bell is named Mary Immaculate, while the others are Francesca, Giovanna Battista, Paulina, Dolores, and Agnes.

The bells will be blessed on Sunday morning and lifted to the belfry, ready to ring for the first time on the 3rd or 4th of October, coinciding with the celebration of St. Francis.

We can’t wait to hear these bells ring!
