Destiny places third in Austrian edition of the Eurovision Song Contest

The Coronavirus didn’t stop fans from crowing a Eurovision Song Contest winner, or a version of it at least. Last night, an Austrian TV station had the brilliant idea of hosting a version of the ESC, calling it the Der Kleine Song Contest.

Destiny Chukunyere was one of three finalists picked to perform after landing first place in the second semi-final, earning 96 points. The participants were split into three semi-finals as opposed to the traditional two and were judged by a professional Austrian jury.

The public was asked to vote and Destiny came in third place with 19 per cent. Iceland won the competition with 48 per cent of the votes while Austria came in second with 33 per cent.
