December summer? ‘Sunny’ and ‘warm’ weather to persist over Malta for two weeks
The next seven days are set to bring nothing but sun, some clouds, and the occasional bout of wind.

After November’s crazily cold weather, we were all expecting a downright freezing December – but the past couple of weeks have been a far cry from that…

According to local weather page Maltese Islands Weather, the bout of warm and sunny weather that’s struck the country as of late is set to persist for quite a while longer!

“It’s been two weeks since the last widespread heavy rain. An anticyclone had developed across the central Mediterranean back then, and has persisted ever since,” the weather page wrote on social media.

“This is set to persist for much longer,” it continued.

The anticyclone in question is set to keep covering areas of North Africa and the Mediterranean for, at least, another two weeks.

Thanks to this phenomenon, the storm track will be deviated to the North, away from Malta.

“In simple terms, the storm systems which would have normally impacted the central Mediterranean will move across central and northern Europe. We expect most days to be dry, with some likely to be characterised by plentiful bright sunshine,” the Maltese Islands Weather page wrote.

“A few isolated showers may still occur, but these will be few and far in between. Temperatures are likely to be mild, with warm daytime highs and comfortable night-time lows,” it concluded.

These predictions are corroborated by the Malta International Airport’s seven-day forecast.

According to said forecast, the next seven days are set to bring nothing but sun, some clouds, and the occasional bout of wind.

Temperatures are also forecast to reach highs of 18°C all throughout the week, dropping to 12°C, at most, at night.
