Cultural treasures! Heritage Malta opens all sites for public holiday on 8th December
Among the sites welcoming visitors are Għar Dalam and Borġ in-Nadur, two locations that shed light on Malta’s earliest human history.
Heritage Malta is inviting the public to take full advantage of the upcoming public holiday on Monday, 8th December, by exploring the islands’ cultural treasures.
In a special initiative, all Heritage Malta sites that are usually closed on Mondays will open their doors from 09:00 to 17:00, giving visitors a rare chance to enjoy a wider selection of historical locations in one day.
Whether you're hoping to revisit a favourite landmark or discover a site you’ve never experienced before, the day offers an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in Malta’s rich and diverse heritage. Families, history enthusiasts, and curious explorers alike can enjoy a meaningful outing filled with culture, learning, and discovery.

Guests can also explore the elegant Domvs Romana, step inside the historic Inquisitor’s Palace, or walk through the fascinating collections at the National Museum of Natural History.
In Gozo, doors will be open at the Gozo Museum of Archaeology, the Gozo Nature Museum, the charming Gran Castello Historic House, and the Old Prison, offering a rich cultural experience across the sister island as well.
