Stay safe, everyone!

Today, Malta is expected to register over 400 new cases of COVID-19, which would be another all-time record-breaking figure. The last record came in at 362 new cases on Thursday 4th March, nearly a week ago.

It is reportedly understood that a record number of swabs was also carried out and health professionals are blaming the spike in cases on the spread of the UK variant. Today's figures is expected to be around the 460 mark, but further details will be given by Sahha at 12.30pm.

This comes as Malta ranked sixth in the list of countries with the highest number of cases worldwide, according to the United States' CDC.

Such high numbers lead to the introduction of new measures including the closure of restaurants, stopping all contact sports for children under the age of 16 and only allowing four households to mix, among others.

Today's figures will be published later on by the official page, Sahha.
