COVID-19: Mater Dei Hospital suspends patient visiting hours to minimise spread
The policy does not apply when visiting children and in other extraordinary situations.

In a post late last night, Mater Dei Hospital announced that they will be temporarily suspending patient visiting hours as part of their COVID-19 prevention and control strategy.

They also highlighted that the policy does not apply to those visiting children and other extraordinary situations.

Albeit difficult for loved ones to follow, and hospitalised patients to endure, implementing such procedures is vital to prevent spread of the virus, especially to vulnerable people: "These restrictions may be difficult for patients and their loved ones, but Mater Dei Hospital is taking these necessary steps to protect patients and staff. This policy is temporary and is being done to safeguard the health of our patients."

This decision comes after Mater Dei had already imposed restricted visiting hours last March.
