Who is Pete Buttigieg?

Pete Buttigieg is the son of Professor Emeritus Joseph A. Buttigieg and Jennifer Anne Montgomery. Simply known as ‘Mayor Pete,’ he’s been the mayor of the Indiana town since the age of 29.

The 37-year-old is now being touted as the dark horse in the Democratic party who, among other candidates, could shake things up in the forthcoming race to take Trump’s place in the White House. #EjjaMinHemm!

Why we think he’ll make a great US President

While any politically-literate person would do a better job at running the Land of the Free than the oompa loompa currently sitting in office, we’re sure Pete Buttigieg will do a lot of good!

1. He’s got campaign experience after working for John Kerry’s presidential campaign, as well as interning for Ted Kennedy. He also filled in for Joe Biden as speaker at an annual gathering of Illinois Democrats.

2. He’s the first openly gay nominee from a major political party and will definitely back the LGBTQI community to the full.

3. He’s the youngest mayor of a mid-size US city that transformed the city into a ‘national model of renewal.’ You go, boy!

4. He’s got a heart of gold (could that be the Maltese in him?) Mayor Pete volunteered for active duty in Afghanistan with the Navy Reserve while serving as mayor in 2014. Talk about multitasking!

5. Barack Obama even seems to think he’s got what it takes! The former-POTUS expressed that Buttigieg is one to watch!

The Maltese population will definitely be rooting for you, Pete!
