Clive Farrugia becomes the first Maltese athlete to advance to an ISSF World Cup Final in the Skeet event
The competition was held in Larnaca, Cyprus.
The Maltese athlete Clive Farrugia has managed to advance to the final at the ISSF World Cup in the Skeet men event, becoming the first Maltese athlete ever to do so.
During the international competition held in Larnaca Cyprus, Clive qualified with the score of 121/125 hit targets +9 shoot-off.

He then qualified to shoot in ranking match two, however he was unfortunately ruled out after the first series with the score of 14/20.
Nonetheless, Clive managed to impressively finish in eighth place out of 119 shooters.
These incredible results have most definitely strengthened Clive’s position for the qualification ranking in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Paris.
Clive was not the only Maltese athlete competing in the Skeet Men event. Brothers Marlon and Marcello Attard both finished their competition with the score of 113/125, whereas Liam Sciberras and Junior athlete Matthias Azzopardi who were both competing for the Ranking Points Only (RPO) managed the score of 109/125 and 107/125 respectively.
The gold medal was won by Erik Pittini from Italy while Eetu Kallioinen from Finland took the silver. The German shooter Sven Korte won the bronze medal.
The ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Larnaca saw a total of 377 athletes from 60 nations participating in different disciplines.
