Shining bright like the diamond of the Med that we are! This snapshot shows our side of the globe lit up from SPACE! Now that’s quite a sight we’ve never seen before.

Parts of Europe can be seen in the shot, with Italy and Sicily being very prominent right above us. While the Med looks super cool from way up in space, many locals have noted that the fact that we’re shining so bright, ain’t such a good thing…

“Light pollution at it’s worst!” commented one Facebook user on Malta Weather’s Facebook post. While many noted it’s an awesome shot, it’s all light pollution that many people aren’t aware causes harm to the environment. One local suggested investing in reflectors as opposed to street lights that could help the situation.
