Autumn is the season for colour - for most, it calls to mind burnt auburn leaves, rusty orange branches and warm browns and greens that flourish through the countryside. And while you may not quite find these same colours in Malta this season, there are still so many beautiful hues that conquer our land. Here are five that strike a chord in autumn.
The green, green grass
The grass may always be greener in the European lands that surround us, but the greenery in Malta doesn’t disappoint. The north western areas are full of beautiful landscapes where green shrubs sprout from the land and tall trees dominate the streets.
The deep blue sea
No doubt - Malta’s blue Mediterranean sea is what draws most visitors to our island, and also a determining factor as to what helps locals stay put! North, east, south and west, Malta’s panoramic view generally features a whole lot of blue.
The band of gold
The sun in Malta never fail - the golden band that dominates the skyline at dawn and dusk evokes an aura of content and positivity that never fail to disappoint. Take in the sun’s rays, absorb the energy and spread the good vibes.
The red, red wine
This may not be a natural colour that occurs in our countryside (well, it does if you think about it) but it should appear in a bottle or two stored safely in your kitchen cabinet! Pour yourself a sneaky glass of red at the end of the day to soothe life's troubles.
The purple rain?
OK, the rain may not be purple, but the song lyric theme chosen had to be carried on somehow! The rain in Malta may be rather striking during the month of November, but a good umbrella and a clever commute can dry all your troubles, and at the end of it all, a kaleidoscope of colour: a rainbow!
