The rough seas are at it once again!

Travellers heading to Sicily for Carnival celebrations are being advised to check their sailing times, as Virtu Ferries has announced schedule changes due to unfavourable sea conditions along Malta’s coast.

The amendments affect crossings between Valletta and Pozzallo on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th February 2026.

Friday 13th February

Departures from Malta:

  • 17:00 (amended from 05:00)
  • 19:00 (amended from 07:30)

Departures from Pozzallo:

  • 20:30 (amended from 08:30)
  • 22:30 (amended from 19:30)

Saturday 14th February

Departures from Malta:

  • 05:00 (scheduled)
  • 07:00 (amended from 13th February at 18:00)

Departures from Pozzallo:

  • 10:30 (amended from 13th February at 21:30)
  • 20:30 (scheduled)

Passengers are encouraged to verify their booking details and allow extra time for travel to the terminal – things might change if the seas get rougher than expected. If you’re planning a last-minute Carnival trip to Sicily, check directly with Virtu Ferries for the latest information before heading to the port.
