Few things tug at our heartstrings more than animals in need, and these two dogs, Bear and Toby, have us wishing we could home them ourselves RIGHT NOW.

Facebook page Rescued is My Favourite Breed – Malta, which promotes adoption and fostering and raises awareness on animal welfare on the islands, posted about Bear, who has been waiting for 11 long months to be homed.

The adoption page says he is amazing with people, including kids, and is great around other dogs too (though he does love attention so is fine being the only canine in the house!).

“Who will open their hearts to our sweetheart Bear? We will not let him spend the whole of this year in a shelter pen as he did last year! We know Bear's hero is out there, waiting to welcome him into the family!” the volunteers wrote.

But Bear isn’t the only affectionate dog looking for a forever home. World, meet Toby, a lovable rescue pup whose heart has been broken after being surrendered by his former owner.

“Yet another victim of abandonment, Toby is not doing well at all and even though he is super happy when out with the volunteers, he is crying hysterically the minute he goes back in the pen! He is a very sociable, very loving baby and misses human contact very much,” the page wrote.

If adopting a pet is something you’ve been putting off for a while, seeing these dogs and the unconditional love they offer might be just what you need to take the plunge. Bear and Toby will love you forever for it!
