There will be a number of blood drives around the islands this month.
Malta’s National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) has just made one very important announcement…
Turns out Malta’s hospitals are in dire need of A positive blood, and the NBTS is kindly asking for eligible donors to come forward.
“We’re asking for more blood donations, particularly those that are A positive, and we are calling a number of donors one by one,” the NBTS wrote.
You can choose to book an appointment to donate blood at the National Blood Donation Centre in Pietà by calling on 80074313.
Before heading to the blood donation centre, it is highly recommended that you check whether or not you are eligible to give blood. This can be done via a quick online quiz here.
A number of blood drives are also organised every month, taking the donation centre to several places around Malta and Gozo.
This month, there will be blood drives at the Xewkija Berga in Gozo (6th November), at the Marsaskala Parish Church (6th November), and at the Birzebbuga Parish Church (13th November).
