Calling all students! Heritage Malta kicks off their fun-packed educational programme
Students, this one’s for you! Thanks to Heritage Malta and the Ministry for Education and Employment, over 9,000 students will benefit from the new Educational Programme which was launched just this morning at MUZA, Malta’s national museum of art.
The educational programme covers the 2019/2020 scholastic year in its entirety and includes an array of activities being held throughout the year. “Following this summer’s successful programme, creating a new educational programme for the scholastic year was a natural continuation of our educational goals,” said Mr Frank Fabri, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry during the launch, stating also that the summer programme will be repeated in 2020 as well.
The programme will cater for all students ranging from kindergarten, right up to post-secondary level and will not only tackle history but also maths, Maltese, physical activity and drama. “We hope that this multidisciplinary approach will show students – and parents – that museums are inclusive, accessible to everyone, and so much more than just historical sites,” emphasised Mr Mario Cutajar, Heritage Malta’s Executive Director.
The fun-packed activities will include mathematics in the Roman cathacombs, Maltese language through history and circuit training in Fort St Angelo. Various curators of the heritage organisation will also deliver outreach programmes in schools.
