Following today’s developments in connection to COVID-19 on our islands, Malta International Airport has compiled important need-to-know information with regard to travelling at the moment.

They urge the public to call the helpline 111 or 2132 4086 if they are experiencing fever, a cough or shortness of breath. They also noted that those local citizens currently abroad can reach out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in case of an emergency.

After listing contact details of the respective embassies of the affected countries, the airport stated that it is “operating normally and taking all necessary preventive measures to safeguard passengers and employees from exposure to Coronavirus.”

Travel to and from Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland have been suspended until further notice. All inbound passengers are being screened by local Health Authorities once they land in Malta.
