‘Art, Faith and Tradition’ – Extensive programme of festivities in Gozo released in the lead up to Easter
An exciting list of Easter events going down in Gozo has just been announced.
The programme of activities titled ‘Easter in Gozo – Art, Faith and Tradition’ will start off on Friday, 10th March and will go on till Friday, 14th April.
The long list of events includes something for everyone! It is heavily focused on keeping local traditions alive whilst also introducing new ones.
From Good Friday and Easter Sunday processions, easter themed concerts, to artistic exhibitions, theatre productions and fun activities for kids, it’s definitely looking like an exciting month to visit the sister island of Gozo.

However, the highlights are definitely the processions, mainly that of the Lady of Sorrows, Good Friday and Easter Sunday that are held across many villages and towns all over the island:
Lady of Sorrows Procession, 31st March:
Fontana at 6pm
Ghajnsielem at 6pm
Nadur at 6pm
Xaghra at 6pm
Zebbug at 6pm
Kercem at 6:45pm
Qala at 7pm
San Lawrenz at 7pm

Good Friday, 7th April:

Other notable events include the live street play and procession, ‘Imsallab fi Triqitna’ happening on the 1st April and an easter concert in Xaghra featuring ‘The Priests’ on the 14th April.
It’s also not Easter in Gozo if you don’t visit one of the many exhibitions depicting ‘The Last Supper’. One such exhibition is the one being organised in Xaghra by the name of ‘Crux Fudelis’ by the ‘Ghaqda tal-Milied Xaghra’.
