A mixeghla is an activity wherein a large number of candles or lanterns are lit up and positioned in a particular way so as to mimic an image or design.

The Mixeghla tal-Qaddisin will be taking place in front of every single parish church in Gozo, with thousands of candles reflecting images or symbols related to each and every town or village’s patron saint.

The island-wide activity is being handled by the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry of Gozo, with the collaboration of the Gozo Diocese.

This display is set to kick off at 6pm.
