One thing we love more about Christmas than festive foods is the wide array of beautiful, cheesy and downright heartfelt Christmas adverts we’ve come to expect every autumn from companies all over the world. Initially an approach taken on by large entities such as John Lewis and Sainsbury’s, these short films have provided a pretty cool excuse for businesses at large to reach out to their customers.
Malta has slowly been implementing this tradition in recent years, and this year's Air Malta Christmas advert is one for the books. Commemorating the 45 Christmases in which the national airline has been bringing families together, Air Malta's advert will make you book a trip home, if you haven't done so already.
The narrative follows the story of a family celebrating Christmas in 1974. Seperated by geographical distance but united through a Christmas tree decoration in the form of a Maltese cross, they are reconnected together 45 years later. The large gap symbolizes the amount of time in which Air Malta has been in operation, introducing many Maltese families to foreign countries, assisting emigration and bringing families together.
