After last weekend’s blowout, could we be in for round two?
Just when we thought we'd seen the last of high winds...

Malta experienced quite the gale over the weekend, with winds in Valletta peaking around 70 km/hr on Saturday. Sunday’s sunny spell was a much-welcomed addition to what had been a pretty wet week, and its extension into Monday has now raised our hopes for a warm and mild pre-Christmas week.

Fortunately for us, stable temperatures will characterise the next seven days with maximum highs of 20 degrees Celsius and lows around 14 degrees Celsius. Although some showers are expected, mainly on Thursday, the week is expected to strike the perfect balance to cater for lovers of grey weather and those yearning for a healthy dose of vitamin D.

However, high winds haven’t exactly been abolished and it looks like tempests will continue to wreak havoc to our islands for a while longer. Today's forecast is relatively tame with winds around F3 and F4, however the South Eastern gusts are expected to rise again to reach F6 by Tuesday evening and will last well into Wednesday. Thursday shows a calmer start, yet winds will pick up for a second time over the weekend, peaking at F6 from Friday through to Sunday.

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
