Great stuff!

Tree huggers unite! This is such a great initiative in the wake of other environmental news lately. Siggiewi’s Local Council will be introducing an ‘adopt a tree’ campaign. How cool is that?

“Siggiewi Local Council will be organising a campaign so that residents are encouraged to adopt one or more trees around our locality,” they say in a Facebook post. “The first area which will be organised will be Nalizpelra Playing field in Dr Nikola Zammit Street.”

Get involved!

If you’re interested in being part of this initiative which includes providing water to your adopted tree during the hot summer months, just send the local council a message on Facebook or head over to their offices in Pjazza San Nikola. And the best part is, you don’t have to be a Siggiewi resident to participate!
